A: I've recently found out that AppleScript was not considered a "scripting" language for this situation. I've written a GUI app, and used AppleScript to invoke it, but it will not work as far as I can tell for launching via a service, etc. It's a shame that they don't allow this, but to my mind AppleScript is a small piece of the puzzle, and it doesn't quite fit into the "Service" category. Q: Running a SQL Query only once I am not sure if what I am asking for is possible, but I am trying to find a way to run a SQL query only once. I have a table of data that I am using to update an external system, every hour or so the external system sends the updates. I have a script that runs to check that the data on the external system is the same as the data in my database and if it is, the data is updated. The problem I have is that the script is taking so long to run that the external update is missed every time, so I want to make sure that it runs only once. Is there a way to do this? A: Using a simple way. CREATE TABLE #t ( --Dummy data-- ) CREATE PROC dbo.MySQLCallback @UpdatedVar VARCHAR(50) AS BEGIN -- Is Update has happened before? IF EXISTS(SELECT 1 FROM #t) -- Yes, so do update UPDATE #t SET #t.Name = @UpdatedVar ELSE -- No, so do insert INSERT INTO #t(Name) VALUES (@UpdatedVar) END SELECT * FROM #t Evaluation of a novel right ventricular mass regression parameter for CT assessment of acute pulmonary embolism.
